Only people who worked in the tech domain or had a lot of money had the ability to get a website onto the Internet. The developments in web technology have come thick and fast and now offering mind blowing speeds and power. One of the latest developments in is cloud hosting, a form of server hosting where load is shared between computers and is flexible to fluctuation needs. This form of hosting is being used more and more by companies and individuals, here are some reasons why.

Expandable
One of the most attractive features of cloud hosting is the ability to burst servers as and when needed to provide more space and more bandwidth during periods of heavy traffic or usage. For companies who see lots of peaks and troughs in their site usage due to promotional campaigns or offers, this can be very useful. It is a nice feeling to know that you site will never be unable to handle demand and will not fall over at a vital time when sales could be at a high.

Expendable
Just as the cloud servers can expand to meet demand, so to can they shrink when not under high usage. In the real world this means that you only ever pay for the amount of server resources that you are using at any one time. It is an infuriating thought that your server is idling well below its potential most of time, but your having to pay for a powerful one as every now and again you need it. Cloud hosting really does let you expend server resources back into the cloud when you don’t need it and keeps costs to the bare minimum.

Evolutionary
Cloud computing marks a step forwards for money individuals and companies largely because it is so flexible and adaptable. Rather than paying for one server that will become outdated and reduce in efficiency over time, you are paying for virtualization technology that can continually be updated and can change with the times.
